The first\, we’ll be looking at some samples of shapes that can be cut from wood\, and which machines make what kinds of cuts.  We’ll learn a little about different kinds of woods and what trees woodworkers like to work with.  There will be lots of things to touch and smell and think about!  Then we get down to business and create a drawing of our figure/person or an animal\, real or imagined\, then transfer that idea to a nice clean pine board.\n   \n    When you come back week two\, your figure has been cut out\, and holes drilled\, and primed\, ready for you to assemble it with cord ties and paint it with quick-drying water-based paints.  You can take it home and continue to embellish it and put it up on your wall\, your own art created together\, no pattern\, completely unique.\n   \n    Two 90-minute sessions\, March 9th and March 16th\, at 1:00-2:30 p.m.\, taught by Valerie Hibbard\, M.A. ed.\n   \n  $85   All materials included.\n
